This Old Ma’s heart is full of gratitude! We opened the farm stand for just two days over the weekend, and oh, the love and support you all showed! It was like a balm for our weary souls. Your generosity lifted our spirits and reminded us of the community we’re blessed to be part of.

As I watched folks come and go, sharing smiles and stories, it got me thinking about life’s surprises. You see, we had quite the unexpected event ourselves. One of our mama goats, who had recently come to us needing a home, surprised us by giving birth to the sweetest little twin baby girls. We didn’t even know she was expecting! Life sure has a way of throwing surprises our way, doesn't it?

In the midst of all the hustle and bustle, the arrival of these new lives brought a moment of quiet joy. I found myself reflecting on the beauty of new beginnings and the unexpected blessings that come our way. It’s a reminder that even when things seem tough, there’s always a glimmer of hope and new life just around the corner.

As it says in Isaiah 43:19, "See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland." These little goats are our streams in the wasteland, a sign of new things blossoming amidst the challenges.

This farm life is a mix of highs and lows, joy and sorrow, and sometimes-more often than not it seems- all at once. We’re grateful for every moment, and for the wonderful friends and customers who journey alongside us. Your support this weekend was a beaming light, illuminating the strength of community and the beauty of shared blessings.

Proverbs 16:9 reminds us, "In their hearts humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps." We may not always see the path ahead clearly, but we trust that He is guiding us, bringing new opportunities and unexpected joys along the way.

Yet, with all the changes and challenges we've been facing, we're taking each day as it comes. There may be some tough decisions ahead, and while our hearts are heavy with the thought, we are deeply thankful for the time we've had together. Your unwavering support gives us strength as we navigate these uncertain waters.

Thank you for being part of our lives, for your kindness, and for the shared moments that make this journey so special. Here’s to new beginnings and the surprises that keep us grounded and grateful.

While each departure weighs heavily on our hearts, two recent losses have been particularly significant. Hopping Right Along

It was right before the weather turned cold that our little FarmHer was gifted a colony of breeding rabbits. And true to rowdy Raye they couldn't just be cute cuddle buns, oh no! They had to of course be…  meat rabbits!  Yes, meat bunnies! It wasn't just the rabbits themselves, it was all the things that go along with them too. She and Ole Pa were tearing up the road dragging home the happy hoppers and all the paraphernalia that go along with them like cages, water system, feeders and more. Somehow they even managed to sneak in another barn kitten to add to our cat herd.  Now what? Raye, having grown up here where we have an almost obsessive need to provide more than adequate care for critters, decided the accompanying cages were not large enough. This, despite the fact that they are almost double in size of industry standards cages just wouldn't work for the pint size peanut. This week's newsletter will be a bit brief, as recent events have left our hearts heavy. There was a break-in at the farm, and it has been incredibly sad not seeing folks come and go, sharing in the simple joys of farm life. We've had to close the farm stand temporarily as we regroup and reassess.  It's a time of pulling in close, recalibrating, and finding our footing once more. The farm, which is usually a place of bustling activity and community, feels strangely silent without the daily interactions we cherish so much. Our hearts just aren't in it right now, as we navigate through this period of uncertainty and reflection. Through this, we lean on our faith and the comforting words of scripture. Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us to "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight."
