The days have been long and dry, not just in the way of weather but in the silent absence of water. Our well, who's old and tired, suddenly fell silent. No water meant no life to the farm, and each turn of the faucet without response felt like a reminder of our dependence on this unseen source.

Ole Pa worked tirelessly, his hands and spirit determined, but sometimes even the strongest wills can't force a solution. Over the course of several days, various friends arrived. Their presence was like a cool breeze on a hot day, bringing with it hope and camaraderie. Together, they worked, seeking answers.

Their combined knowledge and perseverance were gifts from the Maker Himself. And then, a miracle – water began to flow again, albeit only a temporary solution, but it was enough to remind us of the power of community and shared burdens.

In these moments of waiting and hoping, we found ourselves reflecting on the essence of friendship and the quiet miracles it brings. There's a profound beauty in having friends who show up, not just in times of celebration but in moments of need. They are the hands and hearts that lift us when our own strength falters.

 "A friend loves at all times... " Even the hard times and we for sure felt the love of friends. 

Life on the farm is a continual balancing act, filled with highs and lows, and yet through it all, there’s a steadfastness found in faith and community. The water may flow uncertainly, but the love and support we receive are constant. We know in time we will have the financial resources to make a more permanent fix, and for now it's a reminder to cast our worries onto Him, as He cares for us deeply.  (1 Peter 5:7 )

And so, with hearts full of gratitude, we carry on. Each drop of water, each act of kindness, each transaction for our incredible customers reminds us of the abundant blessings poured out by the Maker. It’s in these moments of trial that we see His hand most clearly, guiding us, sustaining us, and surrounding us with His love.

"The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; His mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness." (Lamentations 3:22-23)

As winter blanketed the farm in its icy grip, we've grappled with the unavoidable truth that this season brings loss. While each departure weighs heavily on our hearts, two recent losses have been particularly significant. Big Bird, our cherished emu at the age of 37, bid us farewell after many years of companionship. While her departure was expected due to her age, it has left a profound void in our hearts. Hopping Right Along

It was right before the weather turned cold that our little FarmHer was gifted a colony of breeding rabbits. And true to rowdy Raye they couldn't just be cute cuddle buns, oh no! They had to of course be…  meat rabbits!  Yes, meat bunnies! It wasn't just the rabbits themselves, it was all the things that go along with them too. She and Ole Pa were tearing up the road dragging home the happy hoppers and all the paraphernalia that go along with them like cages, water system, feeders and more. Somehow they even managed to sneak in another barn kitten to add to our cat herd.  Now what? Raye, having grown up here where we have an almost obsessive need to provide more than adequate care for critters, decided the accompanying cages were not large enough. This, despite the fact that they are almost double in size of industry standards cages just wouldn't work for the pint size peanut. This week's newsletter will be a bit brief, as recent events have left our hearts heavy. There was a break-in at the farm, and it has been incredibly sad not seeing folks come and go, sharing in the simple joys of farm life. We've had to close the farm stand temporarily as we regroup and reassess.  It's a time of pulling in close, recalibrating, and finding our footing once more. The farm, which is usually a place of bustling activity and community, feels strangely silent without the daily interactions we cherish so much. Our hearts just aren't in it right now, as we navigate through this period of uncertainty and reflection. Through this, we lean on our faith and the comforting words of scripture. Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us to "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight."
