In the heart of our farm, amidst the rustling leaves and the soft hum of life, we've been blessed with the presence of families eager to explore the wonders of agriculture. These tours have become moments of pure magic, where we've had the privilege of meeting families from all walks of life and sharing in the wide-eyed wonder of their children. One encounter, in particular, touched our hearts deeply. A young girl, not quite three ,her face alight with joy, piped, "This just makes me so happy!" Her words making us so happy, reminding us of the profound impact our work has on others' lives and filling us with a sense of purpose and joy.

Reflecting on these heartwarming moments, we're reminded of the significance of Hannah's  upcoming slaughter and butcher class. These events are not merely educational opportunities but integral to our mission of empowerment. Guided by the belief that knowledge is power, we strive to empower individuals to understand and appreciate the journey from Field to Fork. It's a responsibility we take seriously, grounded in the timeless wisdom that "to whom much is given, much will be required" (Luke 12:48).

Our farm is more than just a place of work; it's a place where connections are forged, and knowledge is shared. Each tour, each class, is an opportunity to sow seeds of curiosity and cultivate a deeper understanding of our food system. It's a journey we undertake with humility and gratitude, knowing that every lesson learned brings us closer to a more sustainable and connected future.

We  navigate the ebb and flow of farm life all the while we're reminded of the countless blessings that surround us. Each day brings new opportunities to nurture connections, cultivate knowledge, and make a meaningful impact in the lives of others. And for that, we are profoundly grateful.

Here, on this little ramshackle farm, we find solace and inspiration. We are reminded of the interconnectedness of all things and the importance of stewardship. As we continue our journey, we invite you to join us in celebrating the simple beauty of farm life and the transformative power of knowledge and empowerment. I’m starting and stopping so many times as I write- the words that don't want to come. It’s so impossibly hard to put my thoughts into words that I’ve even moved outside to look at the pasture, I've ventured to the barn and even back into the house. What do we do when love turns bittersweet? When the gentle sway of a cow’s tail reminds us of joy, yet whispers of loss linger in the air? LadyBelle, our beloved firstborn, graced our farm with her presence, her gentle spirit and sweet nature surrounding us like a warm embrace. She recently calved, yet the silence of her lost calf echoes louder than the gentle moo that greets us each morning. Four gallons a day. Milk that flows like cherished memories—creamy butter, rich cheese, and homemade ice cream that dances on the tongue. Tonight my heart is shattered into a million tiny pieces. How do you even say goodbye?  Today i had to make the choice to love Thistle more than I love myself, knowing that my heart would never, not ever be the same.  Thistle was not just a pig but a teacher of quiet wisdom, wrapped in bristled, curled hide. She was the matriarch, the heart of the herd, with eyes that saw through the seasons of my soul. For nearly a decade, she walked beside me, her presence grounding me in the land we shared. She was best in show not once but  twice—a reflection of her strength, her grace. But those ribbons pale in comparison to the lessons she imparted in the stillness of nights in the barn, early morning feedings, and the every day walks that dominate farm life.
