Ramblings From Ole Ma...

Spring has erupted here at the farm with a flurry of new life—baby goats, piglets, and baby bunnies galore. While caring for them keeps our hands full, there's an undeniable joy in witnessing the miracle of birth unfold before our eyes. But amidst the adorable chaos, there was a big (big) surprise waiting for this Ole Ma upon returning from a recent quick trip to Oregon—a journey filled with its own share of wonder and adventure.

Driving through the Oregon countryside felt like stepping into a storybook, with fields of flowers and lush greenery stretching as far as the eye could see. The Gorge and the Cascades were nothing short of breathtaking, each vista more stunning than the last. But the highlight of the trip wasn't just the scenery; it was the precious time spent with people I love.

I had tagged along on a trip my dear friend was making to pick up and retrieve her cart pony. The pony, Josie, looks like she walked straight out of a fairytale  with a ridiculously long curly mane and equally fluffy, curly locks feathering her feet. She had  just spent a little over a month getting her "fine tuning" and learning all the things needed t to be a proper little cart point. She did exceptionally well and was an eager learner. Watching my friend harness Josie to the cart, was a moment of pure delight, I know they both had worked so hard to get to that moment and it was truly a blessing to get to be part of it. I wasn't the only tag along, and had taken a tag along of my own,  oldest  daughter, Hannah, joined us making the experience even more special. She was right there eeking, eeping and teary eyed beaming beside me as we watched the beautiful duo, two pretty ladies in their element and in the arena!

But little did Hannah and I know, the real excitement awaited us back home! Ole Pa had decided to sneak off and get us critter crazy girls a dream come true of our own!  It's a critter we have wanted for a very long time now, but we just haven't rushed out to buy. And just like the emus, we knew the Maker would send along the right one at the right time!

And that He did! Hannah and I were (something beyond) thrilled to find out he'd brought us home a big, giant, fluffy, long neck spitter! That's right! I'll stop with the drama, but that Ole Pa brought us home the world's cutest llama! We've named him  Hairy Larry and we just can't wait to get to know him better in the days and weeks to come!

In Ecclesiastes 3:1, it's written, "To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under heaven." And it just couldn't be more perfect for where life for us is right now, right here in this moment.

So anyways here's to busy, busy hands and full, full hearts, embracing each season of life with gratitude and anticipation for the unexpected joys that lie ahead.
