Ole Ma's Ramblings
This week, as we dive into another big project, my mind keeps drifting back to a memory from six years ago, when we were in the throes of building our barn. Back then, emotions ran high, and the excitement of seeing our dream take shape was tempered by the sting of an unexpected theft. We had pooled our resources to buy the materials we needed, only to face a setback that seemed almost insurmountable. Yet, through that struggle, we experienced something profoundly humbling and faith-affirming.
We prayed, often with more earnestness than we knew we had in us, and then we waited. And day by day, God’s provision came in ways we could never have planned or imagined. A stranger offered roofing that was headed to the dump, friends provided trees that became rafters, and another friend had a window that fit perfectly. The blessings came, one after another, filling the gaps we couldn’t have filled ourselves.
Ironically, just a month ago, we faced another theft, which has again left us in a compromised position. It’s been a difficult stretch, but we hold onto the lessons from that barn-building season. The faith and resilience we discovered then guide us now, reminding us that even in the face of hardship, God’s provision and grace remain steadfast.
Now, as we tackle new projects, those same feelings of awe and gratitude are surfacing again. We’re once more pouring our hearts and hands into something that feels bigger than us, and once more, we’re seeing God’s grace unfold in surprising ways. Just as before, we’re finding that every need is met, not always in the way we might expect, but always in a way that reminds us of His faithfulness.
In reflecting on this, I’m reminded of the verse from Philippians 4:19: "And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus." It’s a promise that resonates deeply, especially when faced with the unpredictability of life and the challenges of big undertakings.
So, here we are, once again moving forward with faith and hope. Our barn, filled with love and laughter from the past, stands as a symbol of what’s possible when we trust in God's provision. And as we navigate these new projects, I’m leaning into that same trust, knowing that, just as before, our needs will be met and our spirits will be renewed.
Thank you for sharing in this journey with us. Your support and kindness mean more than words can say. As we continue to build and grow, we carry forward the lessons of faith and grace, knowing that every day, our daily needs will be met, and our hearts will overflow with gratitude.
