It's More...

What a great group we had at the class! And we just love when the farm is filled with friendly folks!  We would like to say it went off without a hitch, but that just isn't the case.  Nothing if seems on the farm ever goes exact and butchering can be the same. But thats okay because that only helps empower folks because they can see it happens. And that it's all okay, you deal with things, you handle them and you get it done.  And what got done? Ten families learned how they can put meat in the freezer and on the table and now have the confidence they need to undertake it.  And the hog we slaughtered? He is going to our Papa Tim.  We love this, providing food to people love -especially those who are going to utilize it and truly honor that life.  And Papa? He plans to make sausages, bacon, hams and even head cheese to share with the people he loves.   And you know this, this right here is the stuff guys. Bovine Intervention

This little Punkin was born early and her little body and systems were just not quite ready for the outside world.  She was only hours old when she took her first ride in the back seat of the truck up to our vet. The prognosis was grim. "She might make it, but likely not." And with that we were sent home with an IV drip and very little hope.  But here's the back story... Some of you will remember DaisyBelle. The first baby cow we had here at the farm. Those same words, and even worse were uttered about her. And she went on to live many years filling hearts to overflow. When we did finally lose her part of the heartbeat of the farm was gone.  This little Punkin was born exactly four years, nearly to the hour that Daisy went down for the last time never to get up again. We lost Daisy about 24 hours after she went down,  half of Sagle gathered around working in vain to save her. Over the next weeks people came with flowers and stories trying to come to terms with the fact th
